3d text without alex or scripting it with vertex

Could it be possible to add something to generate 3d letters from Ascii fonts ?

text.display.3d(%var,ascii.fnt,20,center,center) would display the var in 3d with an extrude of 20 on the center of the viewport

to Assign the results to a sequence could rotate,move it

This would indeed be useful ! We will ask our in house scripters to produce a macro to do just this.
